ENGLAND AND Liverpool footballer Raheem Sterling was interviewed by Merseyside Police on November 2 in relation to an alleged attack on a woman.
The 17-year-old Jamaican-born Sterling – who made his England debut on November 14 against Sweden – was allegedly questioned by officers under caution.
Sterling, from Woolton, was not arrested.
A police spokesperson said: “Merseyside Police can confirm that a 17-year-old male from the Woolton area was interviewed under caution, following a report of an assault on Friday 2 November.”
"A 27-year-old woman received slight injuries during the incident in the Liverpool 8 [Toxteth] area. At this time, the investigation is ongoing and no formal action has been taken."
