DYNAMIC DUO: Jermain Defoe (left) and Emmanuel Adebayor
TOTTENHAM STRIKER Jermain Defoe believes that new team mate Emmanuel Adebayor will prove to be a success at the north London club.
Adebayor is on a season-long loan at White Hart Lane and Defoe is also excited about the partrnership the two could form.
He's quick, he can head it, he is strong and a good finisher," Defoe said. "I was looking forward to [the partnership] even before he came."
"There was a lot of speculation that he was coming and I just thought to myself 'please let it happen' because he's a great player," Defoe said.
Both players were on the scoresheet last Saturday as Spurs claimed their first Premier League win away to Wolves.
Defoe added: "He can do everything. Him being there [against Wolves] freed me up a bit because it allowed me to drop deep, get on the ball and beat players so it was good."
Defoe was beset by injuries during the last campaign but now feels that he’s slowly getting back to his best. "If you put the work in pre-season you will have a good season. I just want to keep working hard and I know I will get more goals," he said.
