Suge Knight rushed to hospital after denying murder in court

CHARGED: Suge Knight has pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder

DEATH ROW Records founder Marion Suge Knight was hospitalised after pleading not guilty to murdering his friend and attempting to kill another man in a hit-and-run.

According to reports, the rap music mogul complained of chest pains after he denied the charges in an Los Angeles court yesterday (Feb 3).

Law enforcement sources said he was in the lockup area next to the courtroom when he began experiencing chest pains. Wearing an orange inmate jumpsuit, the 49-year-old was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Knight has been held at the Los Angeles Men’s Central Jail since Friday (Jan 30), when he surrendered to authorities at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, following his involvement in the fatal hit-and-run which killed 55-year-old Terry Carter, 55 and injured Cle 'Bone' Sloan on Thursday (Jan 29).

The chief executive of Death Row Records - the company behind the likes of Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur - was apparently visiting rappers The Game, Ice Cube and Dr Dre who were there filming their NWA biopic, Straight Outta Compton when a fight broke out between him and the two men.

Prosecutors allege that the US record producer intended to run over Carter and Sloan .

But Knight's lawyer, James Blatt, claims it was an accident which occurred as his client tried to escape being attacked.
