Suge Knight sues Chris Brown for being shot seven times

SUED: Chris Brown

FORMER RAP mogul Suge Knight accused R&B singer Chris Brown of failing to provide adequate security at a club where he was shot seven times.

Knight and two other people were wounded during the shooting at a 2014 party hosted by Brown at the 1 Oak nightclub in West Hollywood.

A lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday (Jun 27), which is also directed at the club's owners, says Brown and the venue failed to have adequate security, allowing at least one armed person to get in during the party.

Knight survived gunshot wounds to the abdomen, chest and left forearm. He has since cited complications from those injuries, including a blood clot, in court appearances on an unrelated murder charge.

The lawsuit does not state how much money Knight is seeking, but it asks for a judgment ordering the defendants to pay past and future medical expenses for his injuries, Mail Online reported.

It contends 1 Oak should have taken special security precautions because events hosted by Brown have a history of violence.

The suit also accuses Brown of gang ties and of having a "well-documented track record of hosting events and/or parties in which violence frequently erupted".
