Suge Knight surrenders after he kills friend in hit-and-run

HIT & RUN: Music mogul Suge Knight

RAP MOGUL Marion 'Suge' Knight turned himself in for questioning by Los Angeles County Sheriff's detectives after hitting and killing one man and injuring another with his truck.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Knight and his attorney James Blatt arrived at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department West Hollywood station early this morning (Jan 30) following the fatal accident yesterday (Jan 29) in LA.

Terry Carter - who is believed to be a friend of Knight's - was killed, while another actor Cle "Bone" Sloane, suffered non-threatening life injuries.

The 49-year-old chief executive of Death Row Records - the company behind the likes of Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur - was apparently visiting rappers The Game, Ice Cube and Dr Dre who were there filming their NWA biopic, Straight Outta Compton when a fight broke out between him and two men.

According to witnesses, an angry Knight got into his car, put it into reverse and ran over Carter.

But the Death Row Records founder's lawyer claimed it was an accident and he was running away from attackers.

"He was in the process of being physically assaulted by two men and in an effort to escape he unfortunately hit two individuals,'' Blatt said.

"He was in his car trying to escape.

"We are confident that once the investigation is completed, he will be totally exonerated," Blatt added.
