Supporting black businesses: Meet Orocco Holistics

PICTURED: Vincent Stewart and a few close family members

OROCCO HOLISTICS is a small family run business specialising in aromatherapy, face, skin, hair care and ambience related products, such as ethically sourced essential oils, diffusers, incenses, cosmetic accessories, as well as home ornaments, statues and unusual gifts items.

The company promotes and provides healthy and natural living products, from its customers suggestions and ongoing research from peer reviewed articles based on cultural, mainstream and alternative medicinal sources.

The brainchild of Vincent Stewart and a few close family members in Walthamstow east London, the business became a reality in May 2015, with its ongoing motto and ethos to provide, 'gifts that matter'.

Orocco Holistics also challenges the current status quo of hair, skin and generic health retail outlets which are dominated by non-Caribbean people. Owner Vincent Stewart points out this is why customers suggestions are very important to his business. “We hope to continue building Orocco Holistics into a household name, famed for authenticity, reliability, professionalism and trustworthiness”, he said.

The name Orocco Holistics was inspired by the Northern African country of Morocco, with the letter M taken away and leaving the rest, ‘Orocco’. For the person hearing the name for the first time, it gives a sense of brand familiarity. Morocco is also the source of Orocco Holistics first best-selling product Argan Oil, which is one of the country's most famous export.

Stewart explains: “We have travelled to Egypt, Thailand, Jamaica and several other countries to source the very best and organic products in their respective countries, while ensuring fair trade practices. We are supporters of small businesses and entrepreneurs such as women cooperatives etc.

“We were inspired to start this business enterprise by adapting positive changes to our personal lifestyle, as well as having experience working for several years in a Buddhist retail chain located in the West End of London and several other cities and towns across the United Kingdom, where the appreciation of eastern healing and meditative practices were studied and beneficial aspects adapted as a way of life.

“At Orocco Holistics we believe that the greatest gift one can offer is healthy living, balanced wellbeing and the full appreciation of life. Therefore, we donate part of our profits to children charities and hope to establish more Coops in the countries where we source our products. We consider our ambience related items, face, skin and hair care products as valued gifts to yourself and loved ones.”

Orocco Holistics stock a wide variety of essential oils from A to Z, such as Moroccan Argan oil, Ethiopian Blackseeds oil, Jamaican Castor oil, Thailand Lotus Flower oil, and many many others, all with specific mind, body and spiritual health benefits.

Stewart also mentions three new products are set to debut under the company’s brand. These are: 'Orocco Holistics Jamaican Castor oil'; 'Orocco Holistics Hair Loss Formula: for thinning hair and bald patches' and 'Orocco Holistics Natural Hair Growth formula.

All three are made with the very best organic essential oils, with the hope of truly providing 'gifts that matters'.

'Orocco Holistics’ retail outlets are located in the U.K's largest and vibrant culturally diverse outdoor market in Walthamstow High Street as well as Chatsworth Road in Homerton London E5 and on alternate Sunday's between 10am to 4pm in Chingford Mount London and Station Road also in on Saturdays 9:30 am to 5pm.
