Team of all-star producers behind new Michael Jackson album

NEW MUSIC: Late pop star Michael Jackson

EPIC RECORDS chairman and CEO L.A. Reid has teamed up with the Michael Jackson estate and Timbaland to release a new album from the King of Pop.

XSCAPE has been executively produced by Reid, although it will feature production work from an all-star team of producers, including Timbaland and Rodney Jerkins.

Reid has been given unlimited access to four decades' worth of Jackson's music and personally curated a selection of vocals for eight new tracks.

He said: “'Modern music and artistry would look and sound completely different if not for the groundbreaking contributions Michael Jackson gifted to the world.

“Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with. We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world.”

Jackson died of a Propofol overdose in June 2009 at his house in Holmby Hills, which is in upmarket Bel Air, Los Angeles, aged 50.

XSCAPE, which is available to pre-order today on iTunes, will serve as a follow up to his first posthumous collection Michael released in 2010, which peaked at number four in the UK and three in the US.

The album will be available to retailers worldwide on May 13.
