Tearful Usain Bolt says goodbye to Germaine Mason

MOURNING: Usain Bolt

JAMAICAN ATHLETES, including Usain Bolt and Guinness Book of World Records sub-10 kingpin, Asafa Powell, attended the funeral of Olympian Germaine Mason.

Mason, an Olympic silver medallist, died on April 20 after a motorcycle accident in Kingston, Jamaica. He was laid to rest yesterday at Grange Hill in Portland.

The group of athletes, led by former Reggae Boy Ian ‘Pepe’ Goodison and Bolt, carried the casket at the entrance of Grange Hill, and were assisted by others as they took turns to lay the casket in the sculpture where other family members have been laid.

Other former Reggae Boyz Gregory Messam and Ricardo ‘Bibi’ Gardener, plus track Olympians Michael Frater, Jason Morgan and Raymond Brown, along with friends, family and many other athletes were on hand to pay their last respect to the fallen star.
