APPREHENDED: Stewards pacify the pitch invader as Archer looks on

SCOTLAND'S UNDER 21 goalkeeper Jordan Archer last night (February 4) was shocked to find a Gillingham support bundling on top of his back as he bent down to place a goal-kick.

The 19-year-old goalie, who joined Wycombe Wanderers last year on loan from Tottenham, was taken down from behind in the 93rd minute at Gillingham's MEMS Priestfield Stadium.

Before the incident, the English-born keeper was booked by the referee for time-wasting.

Kent police have confirmed they have arrested the man following the incident. A spokesman said: "A 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in custody following an incident in the 93rd minute of the Gillingham v Wycombe match last night."

Wycombe won the League Two match 1-0 through a goal from Matt McClure.
