TRAGIC: Nisha Jane Webley
A BRITISH teenager is believed to have shot herself in the head while on holiday in Texas, just two weeks after splitting up with her boyfriend.
Police are still investigating the death of Nisha Jane Webley, who allegedly used
a Glock .45 semi-automatic pistol, which was legally registered to her 22-year-old cousin to commit suicide.
The incident occurred on December 27, just 11 days after she arrived in the USA from Wellington in Shropshire. Her cousin, who uses the gun for his job as a security guard, was doing target practice in his front garden, when Nisha shot herself in the head.
The teenager was rushed to a nearby medical centre but later died. She was said to have been devastated after splitting up with her boyfriend.
Police believe that her injuries were self-inflicted but are said to still be investigating.
Hours before she died she had updated her profile picture on Facebook and weeks before she travelled to the US, she had changed her relationship status on the social networking site.
Neighbourhood friends in Shropshire described her as a 'lovely outgoing girl' and 'happy-go-lucky'.
Nisha’s family have requested for a post mortem to be carried out and have since started a Facebook appeal to raise funds.
