Tessa Thompson joins Men In Black spinoff

REBOOT: Tessa Thompson is the latest star to join Sony's Men In Black spinoff

TESSA THOMPSON will join Chris Hemsworth in Sony’s Men in Black spinoff.

Thompson played Valkyrie alongside Hemsworth’s Thor in Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok. The paid will reunite for the studio film due to be released in June 2019.

The reboot will focus on new characters as opposed to the trilogy’s original leads Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, who are not expected to appear in the film.

The film will reportedly transcend the original series’ focus on two leads and instead take a more ensemble approach.

Fate of the Furious director F Gary Gray will direct. Steven Spielberg will be an executive producer and Walter F Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are both signed up to be producers.

Fans have reacted to the news on social media and expressed excitement at news of Thompson’s casting.

Laura Prudom tweeted: “I am suddenly so very interested in the #MenInBlack reboot. These two luminous humans are perfect. [Insert Thor YESSSSSS gif here.]”

The Men In Black reboot follows on the tails of recent reboots of popular films including Ghostbusters and Jurassic Park.

Thompson is reprising her role as Adonis Johnson’s girlfriend Bianca in Creed II, which she is currently filming alongside Michael B Jordan who plays Adonis.
