Thousands pay tribute to Cyrille Regis

THOUSANDS POURED into the East Stand at The Hawthorns to pay tribute to the late Cyrille Regis.

Regis died on January 14 his legacy was clear as family, friends and associates paid tribute in the Midlands.

Former players including Mark Walters, Andrew Cole, Dwight Yorke, Dion Dublin, Michael Johnson and the Stein clan represented the football family.

International singing star Beveley Knight performed for a man dubbed ‘Big C’.

Among the many speakers to address the audience were Regis’ brother Dave, newphew Jason Roberts and his wife Julia and Regis’ children Robert and Michelle.

A private reception took place at Vill Park, home of Aston Villa.
