Toddler found in abandoned car with 'crack pipe'

TRAGIC: Detroit police found toddler in abandoned car with 'crack pipe'

POLICE IN Detroit reportedly found a two-year-old boy asleep in an abandoned crashed car with ‘a bottle filled with alcohol and a crack pipe’.

Last Saturday (October 6) officers were forced to break into the car, which was said to have 'fresh' damage to its bumper, to get the infant after he did not respond when they attempted to wake him.

Sheriff Michael Bouchard told "They tried to wake the child. The child wouldn't respond. So, they gained access using lockout tools. Checked on the child. Called EMS."

"Had the EMS come over and check the stats and vitals of the child. The child was determined to be in fine shape but very, very tired."

Reports have said a woman claiming to be the toddler’s aunt attended the scene shortly after the police arrived and claimed that boy’s mother left him because the car ran out of petrol. She later explained that her sister probably ‘went off in search of more drugs’.

Police are now said to be in the process of tracking down the infant’s mother whom they plan to arrest the mother for child endangerment.

The boy was allegedly released into the care of his father after being taken to hospital.
