UK TOUR: Bridget Kelly
NEW YORK-city born Bridget Kelly, one of the highly rated new voices of her generation, is not forgetting cities outside of London when she starts her first UK tour next month.
The Grammy award-winning star will precede her London gig on Tuesday November 24 at the Jazz Cafe with tour dates in Liverpool on November 21 at East Village Arts Club; Nottingham on November 22 at the Irish Centre, and Birmingham on November 23 at the Institute.
The tour is being promoted by Birmingham-based Punch Touring, which has led extensive live tours with artists like Angie Stone and Ameriie.
Kelly’s unique and powerful voice has collaborated with the likes of Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar and Kelly Clarkson. With her Grammy honour for song writing, the 29-year-old describes her music as a fusion of R&B, soul and rock, influenced by the sounds of Alicia Keys, Alanis Morissette and Pink.
This year got off to a good start for her with her EP Summer of 17 and her new single Act Like That which features Mack Wilds.
Her musical came as part of the ROC Nation camp, where she regularly toured with Jay Z, providing a sweet tone to complement him. As a solo artist her breakout hit was Special Delivery, which was championed by many of the UK’s leading R&B DJs.
