TOUR: Courtney Campbell
RECENTLY APPOINTED Chief Executive Officer and President of the Victoria Mutual Group, Courtney Campbell, will tomorrow (Oct 22) continue his listening tour when he visits with the Victoria Mutual Building Society Overseas UK Limited (VMBS UK) team and membership.
The tour is aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of the needs and concerns of UK-based members and customers and connecting with them at different levels and in different settings, in keeping with the organisation’s strategic goal of being more member-focused.
This is the third leg of the CEOs listening tour and follows similar tours conducted at the VM Florida Representative Office and locations across Jamaica, which took place earlier this year.
Mr Campbell will be accompanied by Chief Executive Officer of the Building Society Operations, Peter Reid, and Group Chief Customer and Brand Officer, Judith Forth Blake. Together they will participate in a series of events, including two Town Hall Meetings in Birmingham and London.
Here, VMBS UK Members will have an opportunity to learn about exciting new developments in the Society’s product and service offerings; the redesigned organisational structure of the VM Group, geared towards driving revenues and operational excellence; and the overall strategic focus of the Company. Importantly, they will be able to share their thoughts regarding these and other matters.
As an integral pillar of the success of the Diaspora community, and in keeping with Victoria Mutual’s strategic goal of being a Modern Mutual, young people will also feature prominently in Mr Campbell’s tour, as the organisation collaborates with third generation Jamaicans in looking to the future. He has been specially invited to appear as the Guest Speaker at the Jamaicans Inspired UK (JAMIN) - Youth Excellence Showcase, where he will address the topic, ‘The Importance of Saving and Investing to Sustain Economic Growth and Generational Wellbeing.’
Underscoring the importance of the tour, Mr Campbell stated: “When I first took up the mantle of CEO in April, I was committed to putting in motion one of my core principles – listening to the Victoria Mutual Members. Having discussions with our key stakeholders, articulating our vision and then seeking their feedback will provide us with valuable insight into any change effort.”
He continued: “I am delighted at the opportunity to get a first-hand look at the developments in the UK and to hear directly from our members, customers and of course our Team Members. I look forward to taking whatever information we garner over the next few days, back to Jamaica and working with my team to bolster our operations within the Diaspora.”
