VYBZ KARTEL'S musical protégé has been remanded in custody following a court appearance yesterday (Dec 13).

Gaza Slim, who is charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice after she allegedly helped the Clarks star 'stage' a robbery, will be held until her next court appearance on December 18.

The singer, real name Vanessa Saddler, is accused of lying to police by reporting that she had been robbed by a man who was already dead.

The man in question was Clive 'Lizard' Williams for which Kartel and fellow entertainer Shawn 'Shawn Storm' Campbell are charged with his murder on August 16.

Her report made to the St Andrew North police claimed that the robbery occurred on October 29, five days after Kartel had been charged with Lizard's murder.

A text was allegedly sent to Saddler's cellphone instructing her to make the bogus report.

Williams' body has not been found but the prosecution said it has video and audio evidence to prove he was murdered.

According to police sources, they have evidence including phone records showing that Saddler and Palmer planned to "stage a robbery that did not occur."
