Waka Flocka Flame cancels Oklahoma Uni show over race row

MORALS: Wake Flocka Flame

NEW YOK-born Rapper Waka Flocka Flame has cancelled an upcoming University of Oklahoma gig over the school's fraternity race controversy.

Footage of members of the university's Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity singing a racist chant in unison appeared online over the weekend, prompting school officials to sever "all affiliations" with the student group.

Despite the university closing the frat, Waka Flocka Flame, has decided to scrap a scheduled show on campus.

Announcing his decision on Instagram, he wrote: "I must say I'm disgusted and disappointed in the actions of the Sae fraternity at University of Oklahoma and I will be canceling my scheduled performance for them next month. Racism is something I will not tolerate.

"I'm all about... white, black and brown people… all races partying having a good time and enjoying themselves together peacefully... We can't change history but we damn sure can create our own future."

In the leaked racist video, members can be heard saying “there will never be a ni**** in SAE” and “you can hang him from a tree, but he can never sign with me”.

SAE's national office called the video "inappropriate" and said it was "disgusted" by its members’ behaviour.

"I was not only shocked and disappointed but disgusted by the outright display of racism displayed in the video," SAE National President Bradley Cohen said in a statement.

The university president David Boren took to Twitter to condemn the video and warned that “if OU students are involved, this behaviour will not be tolerated and will be addressed very quickly,"

He also confirmed that the fraternity chapter would be banned from the campus.

"This behaviour is reprehensible and contrary to all of our values," he said.
