'We need to do better'

TEAM GB men may have lost their first group game against medal contenders Russia, but they also made history as they played their first Olympic basketball game since London 1948.

They lost 95-75 in the first of their five group games, and will have a day off before facing Brazil on Tuesday.

Britain have steadily climbed the world rankings since winning the bid in 2005 with British Basketball being formed a year later. They hope to use London 2012 as an added boost to their development.

Forward Drew Sullivan summed up Team GB’s performance: "We played well in parts but need to do better with our (shooting) percentages. We are always looking to improve our performance as we have four more tough games coming up."
