'When they find us together, what will all the people say?'

HAPPIER TIMES: Chris Brown and Rihanna

POPSTAR RIHANNA has continued to fuel rumours that she has reunited with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

The 24-year-old raised eyebrows after took to Twitter to hit back at critics who had condemned her recent collaboration with Brown, who was convicted of assaulting her in 2009.

Quoting lyrics from the Beres Hammond song, They Gonna Talk, Rihanna wrote: "When they see me with you, wonder what the crowd would say? When they find us together, what will all the people say? [sic]."

Earlier this month the Rude Boy singer was branded a 'dummy' after she released the single, Birthday Cake, which featured Brown, to coincide with her 24th birthday.

Assistant editor of Billboard.com, Jason Lipshutz, wrote in an open letter to the star, arguing she should not have made the controversial move because she is a role model.

Lipshutz wrote: "Young girls look up to people like you to guide them through circumstances too complex for them to tackle on their own, and by granting Chris Brown an iota of tolerance, you implicitly encourage others to consider doing the same."

He continued: "If you continue letting Chris Brown slither into your work or personal life, nothing tremendous will happen- bloggers will blog and a backlash will form, but you'll no doubt continue ruling the Hot 100 and the world will keep spinning."
