Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff set Blackpool alight

COMEBACK: Will Smith

WILL SMITH and DJ Jazzy Jeff set Blackpool alight when they closed Livewire Festival playing to a 20,000 strong crowd on the Tower Festival Headland.

Performing live in the UK for the first time, the reunited duo opened with Boom Shake The Room, accompanied by a light show and pyrotechnics that lit up the famous tower and promenade. Their stunning set included hits including Gettin' Jiggy Wit' It, Men In Black, Miami, Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble, Parents Don't Understand, Summertime and Just The Two Of Us.

The duo also premiered a new song ‘Get Lit’ – their first since 1998’s Lovely Daze’ - prompting rumours of a new album.

“We have a new record that you haven’t heard yet. I’ve been looking at the world lately and there’s a lot of chaos and confusion and I wanted to make a song that allowed people to let their light shine," said Smith.

"We all have an inner light and sometimes this world…people can say stuff to you and tell you you can’t do and you know you can but when they tell you that it kinda knocks you down a bit right so I wanted to make a record that reminded each and every one of y’all to let you light shine.”

Calling for the crowd to get their phones out Will said “these lights represent that inner light inside of you that this world needs you to shine. This jam is called ‘Get Lit’ and it’s just for you”
