NEW YEAR, NEW GOALS: Williams with the US Open trophy
AMERICAN TENNIS player Serena Williams has declared that she wants to win all four Grand Slams in 2013.
The 31-year-old 15-time Grand Slam winner was victorious at Wimbledon and at the US Open in 2012 and wants to capture silverware at the French Open and at the Australian Open this year.
No female singles tennis player has won the four Grand Slams in a calendar year since Steffi Graff in 1988.
But when asked could she win the four major competitions, the Californian responded saying: "Absolutely. Whoever wins the Australian Open will have that same thought. There is no way that Victoria (Azarenka) or Maria (Sharapova) or maybe some other players don't feel the same way. So I think I definitely feel that way."
The first Grand Slam of 2013 is the Australian Open which takes place in Melbourne from January 14-27.
