Woman, 20, set on fire by 'men wearing white hoodies'

TRAGIC: Sharmeka Moffitt, 20, left fighting for her life after brutal attack in Louisiana park

AN AFRICAN-American woman was reportedly set on fire by a group of men wearing ‘white hoodies’ in a Louisiana park on Sunday [Oct 21].

Sharmeka Moffitt, 20, who is said to be in critical condition, was reportedly walking in Civitan Park in Winnsboro when she brutally attacked by ‘three men’, according to KLTV.

Kevin Cobb, Franklin Parish sheriff, told the media in a press conference this afternoon, “This is a horrific event that will not be taken lightly.”

It has been reported that authorities have yet to label the incident as a ‘hate crime’, despite claims that Moffitt’s car was spray painted with a number of ‘racial slurs’.

The victim was able to call 911 from the park at 8 p.m and is reportedly fighting for her life at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.

The FBI and Louisiana’s fire Marshall’s office are investigating.
