Woman who killed husband over TV show jailed

JAIL: Leonora Sinclair was sentenced to 10 years for manslaughter of husband

A WOMAN who stabbed her husband to death in a row over what to watch on TV was jailed for ten years yesterday (Dec 6).

Leonora Sinclair, 50, repeatedly stabbed husband Lloyd in his leg after he refused to forfeit watching football to let her watch Harry Hill's TV Burp, the court heard.

Mr Sinclair, who was a deacon at the Ministry of Praise in Tottenham, north London, was found by paramedics bleeding heavily at the family home in Enfield, north London, on January 15.

He was rushed to nearby Chase Farm Hospital but died from his injuries the following day (January 16). A post mortem examination gave cause of death as a stab wound to the leg.

Mrs Sinclair, who had married Lloyd ten months before the incident, first claimed he had stabbed himself on a broken wine bottle, but later admitted in court that she had panicked and lied.

The 50-year-old was cleared of murder, but a jury at the Old Bailey found her guilty of the manslaughter.

"I would like to pay tribute to Mr Sinclair's family who have dealt with this tragedy with great dignity and grace," Detective Inspector Ken Hughes said.

He continued: "I hope the sentence offers them some comfort and enables them to move on with their lives."
