I HAVEN'T been pulled over for yonks, so you can imagine my surprise when the blue lights flashed behind me the other night.
To be fair, it was five in the morning.
I did my usual ‘intimidate them before they intimidate you’ drill, and switched off my engine, climbed out of my car and reached the officers behind me before they had managed to open their car door.
“What's the problem, officer?" I demanded, looking down at the policeman struggling with a safety belt that wouldn't budge.
According to them, they pulled me over because I was wearing a hoodie. They had checked my details before they flashed me and had concluded from my insurance details that the car was insured for a person old enough to know that hoodies are for teenagers.

Men in the hood
I have not been stopped for ages either. As long as I stay away from certain areas, have less than three passengers in my car, do not drive BMW, Hondas etc, I normally can go along my merry way. This is particualarly worrying since, I am a professional who contributes equally to society, and should feel accepted by it. However, I feel that I need to check what I wear, manage my speech, tone down my opinions, to avoid drwing attention to myself.
I have also learnt also that when you act respectful to the police they treat you like a criminal. So for example if I am requested to pull over and I am humbly to do so and answer all questions without showing any aggression, the duration of the interrogation is longer than if I had shown aggression and challenged their authority to stop me on a whim or stereotypical outdated policing ideas. What are they doing to me? They are making me act aggressive... Any views on this Dotun?
LOL @ U
What are you complaining about Dotun?
You seem confused ..one minute your babbling on the radio at some ungodly hour, the next your being stopped by the Police.
You of course being a law abiding citizen with ' good character' should have nothing to fear.
You sir are a liar of the worst kind.
You don't represent or comment on the majority of Black people on the radio or this paper.
Yet your happy to use your colour when it suits you.
You as in touch with poor young black men as David Cameroon is.
Put up or shut up with being stopped.
