The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) can help you 'get into finance', and journey with you towards your final career goal. The range of employment opportunities is enormous, with challenging career paths open to those with the ambition and flair to succeed.

Some high-powered jobs, like those in investment banking, demand long hours but with the possibility of large rewards. There are also jobs for specialists: IT wizards to create the systems fundamental to the functioning of the industry; lawyers to agree the contractual details of deals; HR staff to identify the best recruits and steer them through effective development programs.

The CISI is the major professional and examining body for the securities and investments industry. Our primary purpose is to meet the needs of individuals working in the sector. We are a substantial provider of study and reference materials as well as working closely with schools and colleges like yours.

Our wide range of qualifications have been created for those at the beginning of their careers, those aspiring to work in the industry, right through to the most experienced professionals. Plus many of the qualifications are recognised by the Sector Skills Council (SSC) as well as the Financial Skills Partnership (FSP).

School leaver
Leaving school and wishing to embark on a career in financial services? You could consider applying for an apprenticeship. Apprenticeships are available to those aged 16+ and are usually undertaken within employment.

In College
In college and looking for a career in financial services? Consider taking the Introduction to Investment: The Foundation Qualification. This is currently being offered in a number of colleges around the UK, with some colleges offering the option of work placement schemes with top investment banks.

In University
Did you know that, on passing a CISI-recognised Masters programme at one of the universities selected by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) as Centres of Excellence, you will be eligible for the award of the CISI Diploma (now known as the CISI Masters programme) without having to take any of the CISI’s own exams?
