VOOM: Angie now has Ferrari looks
Angie Weston still cringes as she recalls the amount of food she wolfed everyday.
“I would eat anything and everything. I didn't care what I ate. I was the queen of takeaways. I loved McDonald's, KFC, pizzas and used to eat them for breakfast,” said east Londoner, Angie.
She fell into comfort-eating after a miscarriage and breaking-up with her boyfriend. Suffering from severe panic attacks, Angie became scared to go outside.
Living in despair, Angie had to leave her job as a casino croupier. She was unable to interact with people
“I could no longer function as a normal person. If I did go outside it would be with Valium and glasses of wine, even in the morning. My friends didn't want to know and my social life went to zero. I couldn't go anywhere or do anything. All I did was lock myself in my room and eat.” Said Angie.
At her heaviest, Weston weighed 20 stone. So ashamed of her body, she would cover her bulges by wearing extra baggy clothes.
“People thought I was pregnant and kept asking me when I was expecting.” said Angie.
Today, she has shrunk from a dress size 18 to a slimline size 8 after deciding that she had to stop eating herself to misery.
She first stopped eating wheat and dairy products in order to reduce the amount of water that she stored in her body, which instantly got rid of her bloated appearance. She also eliminated sugar, salt, coffee and tea and only drunk water.
“I ate plenty of vegetable, fish, chicken, potatoes and yam. For a treat I would have an apple or banana. Every day I would eat four small meals, each with protein and no carbohydrates after 3pm.”
With her weight loss, Angie finally plucked up the courage to join her local gym.
“I threw myself into training, eating right and thinking right. It was a 24-hour job, 7 days a week.”
Shedding the pounds gave Weston and new sense of confidence a feeling she never had before. She began to imagine herself as one of the women she saw and read about in fitness magazines and started to watch videos on how they pose prompting her to imitate her own stance.
Finally finding a passion and a purpose to live for, Weston also found the religion, which changed her life forever.
“I decided to get baptized and became celibate. I have not had sex for 3 years and it’s great. I highly recommend it to women who need a radical change of life. I have also stopped drinking altogether including smoking and have come off all my medication. I have fallen back in love with myself and most importantly life.”
Angie’s weight loss caught the attention of her gym’s owner, Kimberley-Ann Jones.
Jones, a former female body building champion, began to perfect Angie’s body shape.
“I started training at my gym every day and the weight was coming off big time! Kim noticed the changes and started helping me with my first competition.”
“She set a date for me to compete and I only had 8 months to get ready. Kim helped me with my stage presence, posture, and most of all my new hot body!”
She added: “The day finally came and I felt like a million dollars. I weighed 8 stones and was a dress size 8. I was ready mentally, physically and spiritually”.
“I went on stage and all my fears just disappeared. I performed at my best in front of a sold out theatre of 800 people. It was the best thing I've ever done.”
Winning fourth place, a month later Weston went on to do another two competitions where she was placed second and went on to qualify for the British Championship where she came sixth.
“Not bad for a 33 year old!” she told The Voice. “I am now a sponsored athlete for the gym LA Muscle, and I write health articles for their magazine.
“These days some of my friends just walk past me because they don't even recognise me. I look and feel like a new person. Can you believe this once fat chick is now motivating other people on how to reach their goals?”
