BAHAMAS HIGH Court judges have ordered a new trial for Bishop Randy Fraser, who is accused of having sex with a teenage girl he was counselling.

The Justices of Appeal overturned a magistrate's decision to free Fraser, who is the pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church.

The 16-year-old girl, who was being counselled by Fraser between July 2005 and February 2006, claims she had sex with him at his church and his home.

Although the girl had reached the age of consent, prosecutors said Fraser abused his position of trust as the child was in a dependent relationship with him.
