Rocking the red carpet SWAGGER: Craig David and Jasmine

Jasmine and the Base team grabbed all the stars at the MTV Europe Music Awards

I was so exhausted after the planning, executing and editing of the MTV Base Backstage at the EMAs show, that Mariah (who was here last week) sent me a full day spa treatment at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge.

Of course, like most girls, I've had facials and massages. But when executed on a full spa day, it’s like floating on clouds.

But before the calm, there was the storm of excitement that was the MTV Europe Music Awards. The MTV Base team headed to Liverpool for the event and the actual awards day was hectic!

But come the evening, MTV hosts Rickie and Reggie worked the red carpet, where they had chats with all the stars.

Craig David looked sharp. And the very elegant Leona Lewis told us that she was excited about seeing Beyonce.

However, I had to drag Take That to come and talk to MTV Base. They couldn't understand why we wanted to speak to them. Hip-hop lovers are allowed to like pop too!

Estelle thugged it out in her first of five outfits for the night. Solange rocked a black and white mini dress but was, as usual, overshadowed by being asking her questions about big sis Beyoncé

Meanwhile, Beyoncé was getting ready to open the show and it was literally like a military operation. As she left her dressing room, the packed corridors just parted as her security opened the way like the as B– in a strange sci-fi looking outfit– strode mechanically to the stage.

Funniest moment of the night was making Rickie interview Grace Jones. I told him she'd love him and he should flirt with her a bit. Readers: she loved him! She had her arms around him and her leg cocked up on him, whilst rubbing his back. It was hilarious! It was especially funny when Rickie asked her to choose who she preferred out of him and Reggie. She chose Rickie for cuteness, but Reggie “cos he looks like he would be better in bed.” Shocking!

Later, I had Reggie interview Kanye West and it was a great moment.

Kanye can be a tough interviewee at the best of times. And since the tragic passing of his mother, he has hardly spoken to press. But that night, he spoke to us. He told us that he and Estelle wanted to big up Obama at the end of their set, as the President-to-be is the ultimate American Boy.

He also told us about the moment he learned of Obama’s win.

“It’s funny, I was on a plane and when I landed, I found out my mother had passed. It was unbelievable and devastating in a bad way. This year, I was also on a plane and I came off to find out that Obama had won. That was equally as unbelievable but in an amazing way.”

Beyoncé didn’t do any interviews coz she's so famous she doesn’t have to. Kelly Rowland copied her – but I think it would've been in her interest to do as much promo as possible.

Straight after the show, we all piled into cars to go to Base presenter Trevor Nelson’s VIP party.

Downstairs, 1200 fans had a great night, as they jumped, bounced, sweated and screamed. And upstairs, the Base team and load of guests also partied the night away.

Of course, no Trevor party at the EMAs takes place without artists wanting to grace the mic. First onstage was Craig David who DJ’d whilst he MC'd and sang. Who said men can't multitask? Next came a gorgeous looking Ms Dynamite who's getting ready to blow again. Then, Bashy energised the crowd into a frenzy!

And next, Sway took to the stage with Lemar and the crowd couldn't contain themselves! Finally Estelle put the icing on the cake and did her thing as we popped bottles of champagne and toasted the end of a very long but glam-tastic week!
