Bashy backs volunteer scheme

UK music artist, Bashy has joined the fight in getting knives and guns off of our streets by encouraging young people to get more involved their communities.

Together with the East End Youth Action team, the popular emcee will launch the ‘vinspired’ awards scheme, a nationwide initiative aimed to inspire and celebrate a new generation of volunteers in England.

The ‘Black Boys’ star, has signed up to host a master class on emceeing for youth volunteers in east London as a reward for the time an effort they have spent volunteering.

The 23-year-old will be pass on his mic skills and judge an emceeing battle with music festival organisers when the ceremony is launched in the boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets.

He said, “Positive energy equals a positive outcome. It’s good to give back especially when you’re helping the next generation. In that experience I realised that young people have a lot to say and have a lot of great ideas. It was good to bounce my energy off of theirs.”

V is an independent charity launched in May 2006. In this time more than 311,00 young people aged 16-25 years have taken part in volunteering funded by v.
