CITY CAPTAIN: Kolo Toure
Toure brothers looking to be big in the city
NEW MANCHESTER City signing Yaya Toure has vowed to make his new club the best in Europe.
Yaya, the younger brother of City captain Kolo, finalised the details of his £28 million move to Eastlands after the Ivory Coast were knocked out of the World Cup.
The midfielder enforcer lost his regular place at his previous club Barcelona but now wants to help City dominate.
Yaya told the BBC’s Sport’s website: "I spoke to Emmanuel [Adebayor] and my brother after the signing and said to them I want to make this club great in Europe," he added.
"The people at the club have a direction to make this club one of the greatest like Barcelona, like Real Madrid - this first year the objective is to qualify for the European Champions League and I am sure eventually we will win the Premier League.
“It has been two years since Man City wanted me, I am happy and want to make this club big."
The 27-year-old has joined ambitious City on a lucrative five-year deal and he cannot wait to get started with City beginning their Preamier League campaign at Tottenham Hotspur.
The younger Toure brother is keen for the action to start in order to bansish the memory of Ivory Coast’s poor World Cup showing.
"When you see this generation of players - Drogba, my brother, everyone plays in big clubs in Europe," he said.
"I want to finish my national team career with at least one trophy - I hope at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations that Ivory Coast can win something because with the kind of players we have, it will be very very bad to finish football and win nothing."
