'Revenge' plot lands him with a suspended sentence
A 'spurned' businessman who sought 'revenge' on an ex-girlfriend by sending her pals a kinky video of them having sex, has received a suspended prison sentence.
Shamsidwen Ayonrinde, 31, tied up the 20-year-old and filmed her performing a sex act on him before having sex with her.
The university student, who cannot be named for legal reasons, attempted to delete the footage, but did not know how to, St Albans Magistrates Court heard.
After they broke up Ayonrinde, who owns a debt management company and has several properties, made threatening texts to the woman saying: "This next few months will be fine for me, but I cannot say the same for you.
"You have crossed the wrong person. You will know how calculated I am. You have no Idea how much power I have."
The last text signed off: “By the way everyone loves the video”.
Ayonrinde from Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, sent copies of the DVD to the woman’s friends entitled ‘Herts Porn Star’ and ‘X-rated’, telling them to see Facebook for more.
The victim told police she ended the relationship because he had been “abusive” and “controlling” throughout.
He threatened to kill her if she ever cheated on him and went into detail about how if he found out, he would tie her up, put her in a car and dispose of her body.
Ayonrinde told her no other man would want her and the abuse got so bad she wanted to leave, but was scared to do so.
He would sulk if she refused to have sex and get “stroppy” the court heard.
The woman became so desperate she slashed her wrists and after leaving him police installed a panic alarm in her new home when she changed addresses.
Ayonrinde denied the allegations but was found guilty after a trial of harassment for the abusive texts and distribution of the DVDs.
He was also convicted of obstructing police who went to search his home.
The businessman, dressed in a smart pinstripe suit, sat with his head in his hands during much of the sentencing hearing.
Magistrates were handed a number of references and told how he financially supports his sister and her one-year-old child, who live with him.
He was described by his lawyer as an “intelligent” man who had acted “out of character” and was “remorseful”.
Ayonrinde was ordered to take part in a domestic abuse program, during two years’ supervision by probation, given a community order and a 24-week prison sentence, suspended for two years. He was also fined £500 and must pay £815 prosecution costs.
