FORMER BUS driver Orville Russell founded the Bus Driver Link Up, an annual celebration in London, in 2009 to reflect the diversity in the bus industry.

Over the years, the event has grown substantially and over 1000 people are now said to attend annually.

"With over 25,000 bus drivers in London and no event to celebrate our importance to public transportation in London. Working in a diverse and multicultural industry, my aim was to make this event comfortable with the right ambience and mixture of music, so that this event will reflect the diversity of the Bus Industry," Russell said.

On November 29, the Bus Driver Link up celebrated it's fifth-year anniversary.
