THE WINNERS of the Screen Nation Film & TV Awards 2011 were recently announced at a star-studded ceremony at London’s IndigO2. Famed for celebrating the achievements of black talents in the worlds of TV and film, the annual event did just that, once again honouring both aspiring and long-serving screen stars.

This year’s line-up of winners included legendary broadcaster Sir Trevor McDonald OBE, who scooped the Edric Connor Inspiration Award; popular actor Clint Dyer who won the male performance in film award; Tameka Empson, who won favourite female TV star; and Tinie Tempah, who scooped the award for favourite music video performance for his single Pass Out.

Screen Nation CEO Charles Thompson said: “It has been an honour as always to host the Screen Nation Film and Television again this year.

“The winners in each category reflect the wealth of talent that is embedded in our industry. By rewarding such individuals my hope is that this platform is used to showcase excellence on a global scale.”
