THE WORLD'S fastest man and six-time Olympic gold medallist, Usain Bolt, has expressed shock at news of the murder allegations leveled against South African track star Oscar Pistorius.
Pistorius has been charged with the shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, a model, who was shot three times in the head in his apartment last Thursday (Feb 14).
In an interview with CNN, Bolt said he was still trying to process the news of the incident. He says when he first heard the news he asked several questions to confirm whether it was in fact Pistorius.
"When I heard [about the murder], I was like, 'What? Who? The amputee guy?' I was asking all sorts of questions because I was thinking, 'This can't be the same guy that I've seen and I know.'"
Adding: "I still can't process it really. As far as I'm concerned, I'm just listening out and listening to the news. I'm still in shock."
Bolt says he will be following the case closely in the media as it unfolds.
