$50,000 prize to be awarded to one rising gospel star

UP-AND-COMING gospel artists are being given the opportunity to win a recording deal package – and win a prize worth up to £50,000.

The True Worship Summit New Artist Showcase prize will include a recording con- tract, international distribution deal, album recorded in Toronto, Canada, lead single produced by Fred Hammond, vocal coaching by Kim Burrell, album release concert, photoshoot, website and music video for the lead single.

There are five stages to the competition. Firstly artists have to submit two video entries of songs by any of the overseas guest artists for True Worship Summit 2018, namely Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, Kierra Sheard, Kim Burrell, Donald Lawrence or Israel Houghton.

The stages continue through to judging and shortlisting with the top three finalists announced by March 5. At the True Worship Summit, all three finalists will perform an original song after which the winner will be announced.

The winner will also perform live at the celebration concert.

Meanwhile, the ARC church in Forest Gate are launching a new ministry for young women aged 21-35 years with an afternoon tea event on January 21 from 2-5pm. Admission is £5. Fashion designer, stylist and lay preacher Jeanette Young is the guest speaker.
