Babysitter feeds newborn detergent

ARRESTED: Mabinty Williams

A BABYSITTER has been charged with the assault of a child after allegedly feeding a newborn baby washing detergent.

Whilst caring for the four-week-old, Mabinty Williams, reportedly claimed the baby was 'an evil presence' before force feeding the infant the liquid, reports Newsone.

The Seattle based 33-year-old was said to have called her husband, Christopher Peters, numerous times during the incident to ask him questions on childcare.

Alarmed by his wife's strange behaviour, Peters rushed to the apartment, where he discovered the unwell child and took them from her care.

When police arrived, they found an open bottle of detergent and saw traces of the substance around the baby's mouth.

Witnesses also reportedly said that Williams told neighbour's that she had no idea why there was a baby in the house and said that she had witnessed the 'evil' child's eyes 'turn blue'.

When questioned by police, Williams also said that she saw a man standing by the baby's cot.

The suspect is currently being held in jail on a $100,000 bond.
