A BBC first: Mixed-race duo set to host Sunday Morning Live

NEW HOSTS: Ria Hebden and Sean Fletcher

RIA HEBDEN has been announced as the new co-presenter of BBC’s Sunday Morning Live programme. She will sit alongside Sean Fletcher on the couch on the weekend morning chat show.

The interactive magazine show tackles the big topics of the week from hard-hitting debate to heartwarming chat and features - making it a great fit for Hebden’s natural warmth and journalistic instincts.

The move for Hebden comes after successful stints presenting live on ITV’s This Morning and BBC Two’s It Takes Two. Hebden really found her flow reporting on the subject of mental health in series 9 of Sunday Morning Live, and is delighted to be presenting the next series.

She enthused: 
”As someone who has always been promoting diversity within the Television industry, this opportunity is especially meaningful, as I know how powerful a role on mainstream TV plays in shaping our perceptions of what we believe is possible.

“I’m really looking forward to getting started on the show, I’ve worked incredibly hard to get here and I’m excited for what is to come.”

Hebden has already shown a quality track record and 2019 is undoubtedly becoming her breakout year.

She has interviewed a plethora of talent which includes; Sandi Toksvig and Kim Cattrall about the #MeToo movement as well as Idris Elba, John Boyega and Sir Lenny Henry on the subject of diversity in the media.

All about pushing her passion for diversity, this will be the first time a mixed-race duo have presented a daytime series on BBC One.

The new series will broadcast on June 16 at 11.30am on BBC One.
