BET honour Lionel Richie with the Lifetime Achievement award

LEGEND: Lionel Richie was given the Lifetime Achievement award at the BET Awards ceremony last night (June 29)

SOUL SINGER Lionel Richie was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award at the BET Awards last night (June 29) in Los Angeles, California.

While the 65-year-old entertainer was being honoured for his lifetime of work in the music industry, it seems the person in charge of the screen graphics didn’t do too much research as the singer’s surname was spelt as 'Ritchie' rather than Richie.

Pharrell, who won two gongs at the ceremony, introduced the tribute to Richie, which included clips of the singer's career.
