Beyoncé announces epic partnership with Adidas

TEAMING UP WITH ADIDAS: Beyoncé has described the venture as the partnership of a lifetime

BEYONCÉ HAS announced an epic partnership with Adidas that will see her relaunch her Ivy Park leisurewear brand.

The singer, who acquired 100 per cent of the Ivy Park business last year after splitting from Arcadia boss Philip Green, shared the news on her website.

Ivy Park was originally sold through Topshop but following allegations of racism and sexual harassment made against Green, it was revealed that Beyoncé would no longer be working with the tycoon.

In a statement released at the time, Ivy Park said: “After discussions of almost a year, Parkwood has acquired 100% of the Ivy Park brand. Topshop - Arcadia will fulfil the existing orders."

The Adidas partnership comes four months after Beyoncé and Green went their separate ways. The venture will include co-creation on products covering everything from performance to lifestyle, as well as the development of a programme dedicated to “empowering and enabling the next generation of athletes, creators and leaders”.

"This is the partnership of a lifetime for me," said Beyoncé. "Adidas has had tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries. We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business. I look forward to re-launching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader."

The global sportswear brand said it was excited to welcome the star to the Adidas family.

Beyoncé is an iconic creator but also a proven business leader, and together, we have the ability to inspire change and empower the next generation of creators."

A launch date for the new Ivy Park collection or the has not yet been revealed. And for now, all fans have in terms of visuals is an Instagram gif of Beyoncé’s name and the Adidas and Ivy Park logos.
