Brazil take on Team GB in the summer

FIVE-TIME World Cup winners Brazil will take on Team GB’s men in an Olympic warm-up fixture on July 20 at the Riverside Stadium.

And as part of a double-header at the ground, the British women’s side will take on Sweden prior to men’s match.

This will be Team GB’s only game prior to the women’s side beginning their Olympic campaign against New Zealand on July 25 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

The likes of mercurial players such as Neymar could feature against Team GB.

Stuart Pearce, who manages the British men’s team, said: "In world football they don't come much bigger than Brazil and it should be a terrific occasion for us.

"I've learned a great deal about the Olympics since I was given the opportunity to lead this team and I realise just how massive an event it is going to be for the whole of Great Britain.”

Hope Powell, who is in charge of the Team GB women’s side, added: "Sweden are a strong side and we want that challenge to be ready for 25 July when the Olympics begins for us."
