Brian Lara rushed to hospital after experiencing chest pains

BRIAN LARA has been rushed to hospital in Mumbai after experiencing chest pains.

The former Windies cricketer was admitted to Mumbai’s Global Hospital in Parel earlier today, according to reports.

Lara, 50, is in India for the ICC World Cup where he had been commentating for Star Sports.

“He was complaining of unease,” a source told The Times of India. "He is fine and there's nothing much to worry [about]. It was just a minor scare because of some uneasiness in the chest he complained about."

The West Indies cricket team has shared its well wishes for the former cricketer.

“Our prayers and well wishes go out to former West Indies batsman and captain @BrianLara who has been hospitalized in Mumbai due to chest pains. On behalf of all of us at Cricket West Indies, we wish you a speedy recovery,” the Windies Cricket tweeted.

Sports journalist Boria Majumdar said that he had been told Lara was “much better and tests are clear”.

“He should be released tomorrow after a day in observation. Great news,” Majumdar tweeted.

Fans of the Trinidadian cricket legend, who is regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all time, said they hoped he would make a speedy recover.
