TENNIS SENSATION Serena Williams never fails to deliver on the court. From her exceptional sporting talent to serving stylish looks, the 23 grand slam winner isn’t shy about showing off her passion for fashion.

For her match at the 2018 French Open yesterday, the new mum rocked an all black catsuit that made her feel like a “superhero”. She said: “I feel like a warrior wearing it, a queen from Wakanda [referring to the Black Panther movie] maybe.”

The fitted attire that she said was “comfortable to wear” has been praised worldwide for the message it sent out to women post pregnancy.

She wrote on Instagram: “Catsuit anyone? For all the moms out there who had a tough recovery from pregnancy — here you go. If I can do it, so can you. Love you all!!”

Her words of encouragement were of particular importance to mums. Williams almost died after giving birth to her daughter, Olympia. She dealt with serious complications that were related to pulmonary embolism.

Williams said: “I had a lot of problems with my blood clots, and, God, I don’t know how many I have had in the past 12 months. So it is definitely a little functionality to it.

"I have been wearing pants in general a lot when I play, so I can keep the blood circulation going. It’s a fun suit but it’s also functional, so I can be able to play without any problems.”

It’s not the first time Williams has worn a catsuit on the court. In 2002, during the US Open, the tennis champion wore a black Puma shorts bodysuit that made headlines.

Alexis Ohanian, Williams' husband, showed his appreciation of his wife's sporty style on Instagram. He posted an image of the mum-of-one's most recent catsuit and another all-in-one she wore in 2002.

In 2011, the star posted a picture of herself wearing a neon pink catsuit during practice.

The hot pink suit became a hot topic and Williams explained that the outfit helped with compression purposes. She said: “After my hematoma, I have to wear something like a long bodysuit to keep my stomach warm.”
