Buju Banton’s first performance set for 2019

BUJU BANTON’S has announced plans for his first major performance, which will take place in the new year.

The Jamaican star, who was released from jail earlier this month. Will perform at National Stadium in St Andrew, Jamaica on March 16, 2019.

Banton’s publicist Ronnie Tomlinson, confirmed the date with the Jamaica Observer, noting tickets will go on sale as early as January 16.

The Grammy-winning reggae artist took to social media to share more information on the upcoming show.

He wrote: “It’s truly been a long walk to freedom...but I give thanks for the outpouring of love and support over the past 9 years ... I look forward to seeing and thanking you all on the Long Walk to Freedom tour beginning March 2019.”

In addition to the highly anticipated show, Banton has been in the studio with music producer DJ Khaled.

Khaled, who is working on his upcoming album Father of Asahd, has been working on the project in Jamaica, but has remained tight-lipped on whether Banton will appear on the project.
