Cage fighter's killer still at large

POLICE INVESTIGATING the 'execution-style' shooting of a 23-year-old cage fighter have renewed appeals for information as they try to catch his killer.

Genson Courtney was shot in the head as he sat in a black Volkswagen Golf, in Banning Street, Lewisham, on Sunday, July 3.

The stepson of reformed gangster Dave Courtney was airlifted to hospital but pronounced dead.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Gower, of The Met's Trident unit, said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact the police.

"I would like to reassure anyone concerned about contacting the police that Trident has great expertise in protecting witnesses and there are a huge variety of measures that can be put in place to protect you."

No arrests have been made.
