Canaries want Joseph Yobo on loan

FORMER EVERTON centre-back Joseph Yobo could be back in the Premier League soon after it emerged that Norwich are in talks with Turkish club Fenerbahce to get the player on loan for the rest of the season.

The 33-year-old left England in August 2012 but now could return following a spell in Turkey.

Fenerbahce said on Twitter: “Negotiations over the hire of our player Joseph Yobo to Norwich City until the end of the 2013-2014 season have begun.”

The central defender will provide Canaries boss Chris Hughton with greater strength at the back as the Premier League strugglers fight to stay in the top flight.

They remain only five points clear of the relegation zone, and with it being such a tight season at both ends of the league, the smallest difference in player options could make all the difference to Hughton.
