Catering students get Caribbean masterclass from Grace Foods

HOSPITALITY AND catering students at a college in Hertfordshire have been given an insight into how to prepare great-tasting Caribbean food and drink by Grace Foods UK.

Grace Foods teamed up with Oaklands College in St. Albans to host a Caribbean cuisine evening for over 60 guests, including leading representatives of the local business community.

The students got to prepare an array of dishes with Grace’s in-house chef Tom Styman-Heighton and gained first-hand knowledge of how to bring out the true flavours of Caribbean food and drink.

“We’re delighted when we can introduce youngsters with a passion for food to Caribbean cuisine,” said Nyree Chambers, Grace Foods UK’s Head of Marketing.

“For many of them, it was the first time they had experienced Caribbean food, but the really good news is that they loved it. I’m in no doubt they’ll be cooking it again soon for family and friends.”

Recipes served on the night included Coconut Prawn Curry with rice and peas, Curried Lamb Sliders with a mango salsa, Jerk chicken and Vegetable Jerk.
