READY: Joseph

AFTER IMPRESSING the England management during his brief debut last weekend, London Irish back Jonathan Joseph will start against South Africa on Saturday (June 16).

The 21-year-old made his first appearance for England as an 77th minute substitute during last Saturday’s (June 9) losing effort against South Africa and has been confirmed in the starting line-up in the second Test at the Coca Cola Park in Johannesburg.

Joseph will be playing alongside Leicester Tiger’s Manu Tuilagi, who is also 21-years-old, at centre.

"I am delighted for JJ. He has trained very well and showed against the Barbarians and in his short time on the field in the 1st Test that he is ready to make the step to international rugby,” said England head coach Stuart Lancaster.

“To have two 21-year-old centres is exciting and we are looking forward to seeing this combination in action.”
