Chelsea’s Demba Ba allegedly racially abused at Liverpool

GOAL MAN: Ba, left, scores Chelsea's first against Liverpool (PA)

CHELSEA HITMAN Demba Ba was allegedly racially abused during the Blues’ crucial 2-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield.

The Merseyside club is investigating the claims that one of their home fans abused the Senegalese international.

The 28-year-old striker scored the game’s first goal and is understood not to have heard the abuse, which was reported to campaign group Kick It Out by another Liverpool supporter.

A spokesperson for Liverpool said: “We have been made aware of an allegation made to Kick It Out and we are investigating the matter.”

Ba played an important role in Chelsea’s win, which has thrown the title race wide open, handing Manchester City the initiative to claim the league as they now have their own destiny under their control.

Chelsea remain second, two points behind Liverpool, with only two games left to play. But City are three points behind the Reds and have a game in hand.
