Childish Gambino and Kanye West tipped to headline Coachella

CHILDISH GAMBINO and Kanye West will be the next headliners of Coachella, if rumours around the acts performing at the festival are proven to be true.

The speculation over next year’s headliners has been sparked by a report in Hits Double Daily, a trade publication.

According to Hits Double Daily, Childish Gambino will headline Friday, Justin Timberlake on Saturday and Kanye on Sunday.

Childish Gambino, who is currently on his This is America tour, last performed at the Californian arts and music festival in 2012.

The 35-year-old, whose real name is Donald Glover, has said that he will be retiring Childish Gambino after his current music project.

Kanye, who recently released a string of new music, last performed at the festival in 2011.

The news, which is as of yet unconfirmed, has drawn mixed reviews. A number of people on social media expressed disappointment and Kanye’s inclusion in the rumoured lineup.

One Twitter user said: “Why Coachella? Not Kanye.”

Another said: “Take Kanye out...nobody wants to see him.”

According to XXL, Hits Daily Double accurately named last year’s headliners and those for 2015.

Beyoncé headlined the festival this year.

Her historic black college-themed performances were a hit with fans and critics, leading many to nickname it Beychella.
