CISSY HOUSTON has said that she believes the life of her late superstar daughter would have turned out differently if she didn't marry singer Bobby Brown.

In her new book Remembering Whitney the 79-year-old said she thinks the troubled singer, may not become so “deep” into drugs had they not stayed together.

“I do believe her [Whitney's] life would have turned out differently,” Houston writes.

“It would have been easier for her to get sober and stay sober. Instead she was with someone who, like her, wanted to party. To me, he never seemed to be a help to her in the way she needed.”

According to medical examiners the I will always love you star drowned in her bathtub at the Beverley Hilton hotel after taking a cocktail of cocaine, marijuana and several legal drugs on February 11.

The news comes after a private investigator claimed the 48-year-old was murdered by drug dealers over a drug debt.
